We face many challenges in life. One of the biggest challenges for me is learning how to embrace my skin despite all of the scars I have. Scars don't look good on our skin, but it does represent something about us whether it’s the result of a surgery, wound or burn. No matter how unappealing it is, we have to accept that it has become a part of our body.
A few months ago, I've discovered something that will make my burns and scars disappear slowly but surely.
Through my own research, I’ve discovered an oil burn remedy that has worked for me. I only used natural ingredients that I know will make the pain and scar fade away. I love using natural ingredients because I know it’s safe and there are no chemicals. If you don't have any allergies with the ingredients below, you may continue to do this DIY. It is easy, affordable and a natural home remedy, so you don't need to spend a lot of money. Remember, we need to treat our skin like how we treat our baby or car 😋.
Things You'll Need:
3 tsp of Honey
2 tsp of Turmeric Powder
2 tsp of Cinnamon Powder
2 tsp of Shea butter
Aloe Vera Gel
There are two parts in dealing with the minor burn (thermal burn): Healing and Scar Prevention.
1. Wash the burned skin with cold running water.
2. Mix honey, turmeric and cinnamon in a container.
3. Gently apply the oil burn remedy to the affected skin.
Note: You need to apply the home remedy at least 2 times a day to lessen the burning sensation. Do this for 4 consecutive days.
B. SCAR PREVENTION
1. Apply the aloe vera gel and shea butter to the burned skin.
Note: The healing process will take 3 days or more depending on your body's ability to heal from burns and scars. It is important to stick with the process to prevent scar formation. Do this 2 times a day. Only use this oil burn remedy on a first degree burn.
As you can see from the pictures shown below my burn is healing. I was so scared that it will turn into a scar, so I apply the aloe vera and shea butter for 2 times a day. Two weeks later, my burn didn’t turn into a scar. Yes! Yes! Yes! What a success! I am so happy and satisfied.
The home remedy for scar prevention (shea butter and aloe vera) can be also used for old scars, but it will take more time for the scars to fade away. Just be patient and follow this simple home remedy. Remember good things take time! Thank you for reading. I hope it works for you. See you on my next blog posts!
